Reversal Rate (%) = Reversals + Remands ÷ Total Decisions on Merits × 100Reversal rates are a proxy — imperfect but useful — for legal correctness and consistency of lower courts. Very high reversal rates from a specific circuit or district may indicate systematic legal errors, judicial capacity problems, or circuit splits that require Supreme Court resolution.
